Smoke And Soul At The Firepit
Six Degrees, 6 Littlejohn St, Aberdeen AB10 1FF, United Kingdom
If you ever find yourself in Aberdeen craving a feast that speaks to both your soul and your stomach, Smoke And Soul At The Firepit is where your hunger story should begin. Tucked away on Littlejohn Street inside the vibrant Six Degrees venue, this place doesn’t just serve food-it throws your taste buds a full-blown smoke-infused party.
What immediately sets Smoke And Soul At The Firepit apart is its unapologetic devotion to all things bold, smoky, and satisfyingly messy. The kind of joint where sauce on your hands and gravy on your fries is part of the dress code. You walk in and you’re met with the warm hum of casual diners, solo foodies, and even the occasional office crew elbow-deep in loaded fries and brisket. It’s laid-back, easy-going, and unapologetically indulgent.
Let’s start with the Smashed Burger with Beef Dripping and Gravy. It’s a heavyweight champ in the burger world-double patties smashed just right, rich with caramelization, and dripping (literally) in that beefy golden nectar they call gravy. Pair it with Garlic Chicken Dirty Fries and you’ve got yourself a combo that doesn’t ask for permission to impress.
Craving a shareable starter? The Nachos here don’t hold back. Stacked high, smothered in cheese, and topped with salsa, they make the ideal prelude to any soul-food adventure. And if you’re after full-on carnivore satisfaction, the Short Ribs come slow-cooked, sticky, and fall-off-the-bone tender-a dish that practically demands a cold beer in the other hand. Speaking of which, this place isn’t called The Firepit for nothing. Their great beer selection is a highlight in itself, with raspberry beer standing out for those looking to balance bold bites with a refreshingly fruity finish.
Vegetarians, fear not-you’re not just tolerated here, you’re celebrated. The Chipotle Bean Chili is proof that meatless doesn’t mean tasteless. It’s smoky, spiced just right, and ideal when loaded over fries or eaten as is. For something more fusion-inspired, the Korean BBQ Brisket Loaded Fries will stop you in your tracks. The contrast of spicy-sweet glaze, tender brisket, and crispy fries is what food dreams are made of.
Now, if you’re the kind of diner who wants a bit of salad to pretend you're being virtuous, the Texas BBQ Chicken Salad might just be the loophole you’re after. It’s fresh, crunchy, and packed with that BBQ flavor that keeps you coming back for “just one more bite.”
Every dish feels handcrafted, not in a fussy, fine-dining way, but in the sense that someone back there genuinely cares that you’re fed well. The Macaroni and Cheese is creamy, comforting, and big on portion. The Peppercorn Poutine adds a rich, peppery punch to golden fries, while classics like the Hamburger Deluxe keep things familiar for those craving an old-school experience.
Accessibility is clearly considered here too. With a wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, and toilet, it’s a space where everyone can join in the flavor party without hassle. Whether you’re dining solo, grabbing takeaway, or opting for a no-contact delivery (yes, they do that too), the options are all in place to suit every type of appetite and schedule.
Inside, the vibe is casual but with that unmistakable buzz that only comes from a place where the kitchen knows it’s killing it. Private dining rooms are available if you’re celebrating something special or just want to feast like royalty without prying eyes. And don’t forget, they serve spirits, cocktails, and wine too-because what’s a plate of cheesy fries without a cheeky drink to match?
Smoke And Soul At The Firepit is more than just a name-it’s an invitation. To eat with your hands. To savor every bite. To chase that perfect balance of smoke, spice, and satisfaction that only a true soul kitchen can deliver.

“Wow, what an experience. We booked this place for my friends 22nd birthday and it’s safe to say we were not disappointed! Our server Aaron was top notch and provided us with excellent service with his humour and wit. I ordered the smoke and soul burger with crispy siracha loaded fries and it was immense and extremely flavoursome. I would recommend this to all my friends and I will certainly be back to try other items on the menu!”
“Absolutely loved our first visit to Smoke & Soul!! Will definitely be going back. Friendly and welcoming staff … with exceptional taste in band T-shirts. Agree with the menu .. best Mac n Cheese in the toon. Food so good and so drrrty, it made me growl!”
“Pleasant experience, very quick service on food, extensive drinks menu to choose from, nice enough setting although benches are a bit hard! Dog friendly, water bowl provided. Pulled Pork loaded Tater Tots very yummy, great portion sizes.”
“Our family of four visited Smoke and Soul Aberdeen for the first time, but unfortunately, we found the food experience to be sub-standard. The kids smash burger and chicken tenders were hot and were enjoyed. However, the Sunday roast was disappointing. While the presentation was appealing and tasted nice, everything was cold except for the roast potatoes which were only barely warm. My wife ordered the Tex-Mex nachos, which also arrived cold with un-melted cheddar cheese, but they were also extremely basic, leading to them being largely untouched. She also had the chicken wings, which were only lukewarm and had a slightly pink appearance. Although they did not seem undercooked, she felt uncomfortable eating them, resulting in another plate that went mostly untouched. We communicated these issues to our waitress and asked her to relay our concerns to the chef. Unfortunately, we received no apology or action in response. When we requested the bill and paid in full, we still felt disappointed and wished to provide feedback directly to a manager. We were informed that no manager was available. However I noted the Chef was the owner, so we kindly checked if it was possible to speak to him, giving the issues were with the food. He duly came to our table and acknowledged that some items may have been left on the pass too long and kindly offered us a complimentary drink, which we declined as we were leaving. It would have been more effective if the staff had addressed our initial complaint sooner and made attempts to rectify the situation. On more positive side, the drinks were a 5 out of 5. the Rizzy IPA was great and my wife enjoyed her £5 Amareto Sour”
“If you love "dirty food" then Smoke & Soul is definitely the place to try, I had been wanting to try them for a while, so finally decided to take a friend here. We didn't book in advance but were gladly welcomed in and seated upstairs. The bar/restaurant felt really vibrant and had a great atmosphere although last orders for food is 8:30pm which I feel is a little early. The food menu has something for everyone and the staff are really friendly, they advised us when ordering that they had no normal gravy left and all they could do is vegan gravy. Our burgers and poutine almost had a plant taste which I put down to the vegan style gravy. I did notice as well the burgers were more bun than the actual filling itself but the tater tots tasted brilliant. We weren't blown away with the food after all the hype from friends about Smoke & Soul but will definitely try it again.”
